Late-night my 3 peacocks refused to go into their pen but stayed on top. We tried meal worms and everything to get them in until we finally had to grab them and put them in. they were acting strange hiding in the corner instead of roosting I finally went in with a flashlight removed their mirror and removed their nite lite . They finally settled down . We keep a baby monitor in the pen so if something tries to get after them we can hear. They were quiet all night . Is this behavior normal? They also acted like they just could not see.

My own poultry is kept in secure pens at all times due to
the fact that the surrounding forest is full of predators
wanting to dine on chicken or peafowl at my expense.
It is hard to say just what got into the heads of your
birds. I have read stories from many people about peafowls
that always came home at night until one night when
something changed.
