Hope some can help me I have gold, blue, white and black hens - 2 blue cock birds 1 white cock bird 1x black cockbird
I would like to breed with them -do i have to seperate the colours or does the genectics sort themselves out or will I get multi coloured birds - this may be a stupid question but Im very new to all things poultry

Actually breeding silkies is just like breeding anything
else. If you wish to produce purebreds--you must be certain
that your breeding stock is purebred AND you MUST keep the
different kinds in separate pens.

Remember--any individual might have hidden recessive
alleles (varients of gene) even if it looks purebred.
This is how a black sheep can be born in a pure white
flock.
----
I have many surprises here with my not exactly pure-
bred spalding peafowls. A certain pair of my peafowls
produces offspring in THREE different colors.
