One more thing! :)

My peahens are making strange crouching movements when I approach them. They crouch down and spread their wings a bit. They don't appear to be sitting on eggs anywhere, but is this some kind of mating behaviour? It's kind of cool, as I got to stroke one peahen this morning and yesterday I managed to pick her up for a cuddle! Bliss!

Bit of a worry though, as if she's approached by a fox, she's likely to crouch down and not fly off!

Any thoughts on the crouching behaviour? :) x

I have known several peahens with this confused behavior. It is not very likely that a peahen would be confused enough to do this for a fox. Mine are in "secure pens" which keeps them safe.

Perhaps they're doing the mating crouch with me because they're frustrated at my peacock ignoring their needs. lol Thanks for you valued help. xx

To get fertile eggs from her I had to distract her so that Rainbow/Rambo could catch her. I seem to run a home for dysfunctional and/or violent poultry
