Hi everyone, I hope I can get some help.

The veterinarian that used to treat my peafowl moved out of the area, and I am unable to find any vet willing to treat them.

I have an approximately 18+ year old India Blue Peacock.

Three months ago he presented with a clenched foot. I had a friend of mine who is a small animal vet examine him, and she did confer with a bird vet (but not Peafowl vet) about what she saw.

It was not bumblefoot. It was felt at the time that perhaps the bird might have a renal tumor.

Last week his other foot clenched.

He is unable to unclench his feet.

Does anyone know what this could be.

Is there any resource to find a Peafowl vet in Southern California.

The bird is mobile, we have beeded his enclosure with shavings to give him some cushion.

He is eating and drinking as normal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try the United Peafowl Association forum.
It could be a nutrition problem or arthritis.
If all else failed I would suggest making and taping shoes
on him but would try other things first

I once had a peacock develop this problem after she ate something that had been spread on the lawn to kill grubs. I seperated her, gave her access to plenty of clean water and she recovered.
