Is it necessary to worm wild turkey poults? (chicks) My wife and I are raising 13 wild turkey chicks - we have had them since they were 3 days old. (Now 6 weeks old) They appear very healthy and love our daily walks in the forest where they will eventually live and have learned where they can find water, scratch for the best food, and take a great dust bath. They are now living in an outdoor fly pen and are sleep on limb roost that I tied into the pen. One area of he roof is rain-proof canvis covered wire where they hide out in the event of a storm. I was reading some of the responses about Peafowl and became concerned when I read it is a necessity to worm peafowl after 4 weeks of walking on the ground. I was curious if I need to worm these Wild Turkey poults? Thanks for any and all responses.

Sorry I took so long to reply. Your message got buried
under those weird messages that do not belong on a poultry
forum. (and I am overworked with broken or uprooted trees
from the Mother's Day tornados)
If you live in a state that has state poultry labs you can
send some fresh manure from any poultry that you want
checked for worms. I live in Georgia which has a large
poultry industry.
Or if no state poultry lab is available you might be able
to find a vet that can perform this test for your birds.
