Subject: OK folks...shows over..nothing to see here...move along

well folks, it looks like we've accomplished what we set out to do..the total humiliation and elimination of BP from our hobby! Rumor has it that our "friend" has been 'assisted' by some of Florida's finest into maintaining a low profile. Chalk one up for the good guys!
which brings me to my point...IMHO, I think it's time to move on and let his fat bloated corpse rot there on the Florida beach.
We fought a long hard battle..and WON!!! I really don't see the need to continue to beat this dead horse('s ass)any further.
I,for one, took great joy in actively participating in "The War on BP". Let's face it,it was a great unifying cause..a rallying point..the "Bonding Battle" if you will. Hell, it was FUN! But enough is enough.
If you look at the hard facts, of the dozens and dozens of legit collectors/restorers out there,only a small handful were directly affected by this loser. Let the record show that for all of BP's repeated attempts and threats and rantings (and so forth) not a single LEO has lost his or her job and of the shows that were forced to cancel or relocate..they actually worked out for the best.
Why,might you ask, am I risking my reputation (and the possibility of becoming the hobbies new"whipping boy")to say all this? Well, quite simply,I am concerned that this continued attack upon a clearly down and out,defeated enemy could turn around and bite us in the ass.
The whole purpose for eliminating BP was to maintain the dignity and credibility of this hobby. I feel that if we continue the onslaught of attacks upon him, we may be viewed by some as no better than BP himself.
Make no mistake, BP and his actions should never be forgotten or forgiven. WE should all continue the fight to 'police' ourselves in order to maintain our credibility.
We should always be on the look out for a resurgence of BP or others like him.
If you want respect...you must be respectable. To have dignity..you must act dignified. We are the rightgious,let's try to keep it that way.
