… one o’clock passed … two o’clock passed … three o’clock passed – all was calm, all was silent. I began to believe that we would experience nothing further tonight. It was now my turn to take up vigil in the kitchen with Harry … four o’clock passed … nothing … 4:15 nothing … 4:30 nothing … all of a sudden out of the blue Sue came running in; “did you feel the earthquake, she blurted out abruptly”. We had felt nothing, again we checked our instruments; nothing had registered. I took out my notepad and registered the event; just as I was putting my pencil down, we all felt the earth shake; the lights flickered, and there again on the screen was the soldier, vivid as life, we could see blood dripping down from his shoulder; Sue screamed, blood was dripping down from a saucepan on the shelf. I felt something drip on me; it was blood from the light bulb above my head. Harry grabbed me and turned me around. There on the wall written in what looked like blood were the words “Leave us Alone” … I shuddered, I suddenly realised how cold it was. I checked my instruments, a drop of 5 degrees. Then as if by magic it was gone. Nothing. No trace of the blood, the writing had vanished. The temperature was normal again. Nothing.
