Author: Crescent Tear :: Nightshade
Subject: :: Encouraging, the Ray of Light in the Darkness; Cruel, He who Shades it ::

Two wolves trot over the plains in silence, the male in the front, leading the way, the female following some behind. The male's dark eyes scan the land in front, his nose catches and analyzes all the scents in the air, his ears hear every sound. He has never been here before, but he can tell others have, and still are. It makes him watchfull. He has come here in hope to join a pack - a new pack - so of course he wants to meet other wolves, but he doesn't want to stumble over them. One can never be too carefull, Nightshade is old enough to have learned that the hard way. Besides he doesn't want to fall out on anybody before he gets on the inside, where he can start to play his games again. A sly grin appear on the male's lips as the thought runs through his mind. Yes, he will play, play like he's never done before. And this time, he will succeed.

The young female doesn't give the surroundings much attention; she mainly watches him, the male in front of her. Her father. Though if he deserves the title, she is not sure. In some ways, he has taken care of her. Like now. He would warn her if they were to run into some kind of danger, but for reasons she doesn't like. And if the warning didn't save them, and trouble came, he would never waist his strenght on helping her. That's how much of a father he is. And it is his fault they are on the run again. That and all the other things he's done... no, Crescent Tear will never call him daddy.

As these thoughts run through the female's head, they reach the Silent Grove. The male slows down and starts to sniff around. The young female stops and looks around.
"This is it," she says after a moment of silence, a slight tone of wonder in her voice.
"This is what?", the male barks back at her, not happy about the interruption. Nightshade'd rather see that his daughter would keep quiet and pretend not to be there when he didn't need her, like he'd trained her to do when she was young, but she'd grew quite rebellious lately. The female turns her head and looks at him calmly, a small smile of victory in her eyes.
"This is where we shall part," she says steadily. Inside she is shivering with fright of what he'll do, but she's picked up quite a few of his tricks after watching him fool people around all her life. Her father turns around and glares at her, lowering his head threatheningly and rising his hackles.
"What are you suggesting? You're coming with me. You're mine!" Nightshade barks at her and steps closer on stiff legs. "Watch your mouth and don't get yourself into more trouble than you can handle now, girl." The low snarl gives Crescent Tear shivers down her spine, reminding her of the pain these threaths usually are followed by, but she doesn't show it. She's had enough of being the weaker and submissive part. For each step Nightshade steps towards her, she takes two away from him, making it look elegant like a dance, and not like she's running away.
"No, Nightshade," she says, her voice low and filled with despise, and lifts her head proudly. She has grew to be faster than him, and they both know it. He'll always be the strongest, but what does that matter when he can't catch her? There's wolves here, packs she can join - she's not bound to him anymore. "I'm not your girl. I don't need you. I don't want you. You can't hold me back. Not anymore." Crescent Tear's lips split into a grin, and she runs, leaving her father alone behind, snarling furiously after her.

[> Femme fatale. -- Sable, 13:45:15 12/09/02 Mon

A dark femme pads over to the lone male. Her deep brown eyes search him, though she's unaware of what had happened. She walks towards him carefully, prepared if he threatened her. Wolves here weren't push overs. She flashed a grin when she approached him, secretly amused at his anger. "Hello. I'm Sable.." she says, looking him over, not saying anything else, what was there to say?

OOC: YaY! *is happy Bast is back* Guess who... LoL

[> [> :: Irritation :: -- Nightshade, 14:15:41 12/18/02 Wed

Nightshade glared at the female. This was so not the right time to interrupt him, but the female obviously hadn't got that. Or she didn't care. Unfortunately, he couldn't bite her head off. Not yet anyway. She might be a member of his pack for all he knew, and killing a pack memeber wouldn't be a very good start in the new land. Nightshade would never do such a thing risking to ruin his chanse of getting a position to speak of here. Otherwise, maybe... but that didn't matter here.
The muscular male walked in a half sircle around the female before he answered her, head held high and eyes fixed on the other wolf, just to make it clear who he was. Then he stopped and showed his teeth in a mix between a grin and a treathening mask. "Nightshade, they call me, but then, what does a name really tell of a wolf."

The black femme looks at him, eyes narrowing slightly before returning to their normal amused state, "A name can say a lot about a wolf," she replies challenging, "A name is something you must lived up to, a curse put upon us at birth at the amusement of our parents," she says with a slight laugh. She looked at him, posture equal in dominance. "I'm Sable," she says with a grin.

"Well, if my parents expected me to be a wolf who easilly became invisible among others, I've failed to live up to mine." Night lifted his head a bit higher, looking down at Sable with a patronizing grin. "But tell me anyhow, what does your name reveal about you? What do you have to live up to?" The male tilts his black and grey head slightly, a small glimpse of amusement showing in his dark eyes as he waits for her answer.

She laughs a little and looks at him a grin upon her face, "Nothing," she says with a shrug, "It means dark, black, a simple name for a simple wolf.. My parents never expected much of me," she says with a shrug, it was an accepted fact that her parents had never really cared for her and it no longer bothered her. She thought her name suited her, actually.

"A simple wolf?" Nightshade smirked. "How I'd hate to be called that." His eyes glittered with arrogance, having the good feeling of dominance being within his reach again. Night would never agree to be called a simple wolf. In his eyes he was far from, and one day they would all see it. Yes, they would.

She shrugs, "And why would it bother you?" she says with a grin, "All wolves are simple in my eyes, even myself, there's only those who think they're high and mighty and simply refuse to accept it.. Then they make everyone else believe they're something special. And then the others who believe they're worthless and agree to being stepped on," she says, looking at him, playfully, her tail flicking back and forth like that of a cat.
