“Now Marina, you have a decision to make, you can stay here and lie down bored. Or you can explore this place, but with a little added mystery. Gee what’s a poor girl to do…? Yeah like I even have to think about it.” Marina closed the curtain behind her and pushed the mirror semi into place. She then turned and walked down long, narrow, stairs starting her journey to mystery. At the end of the dark passage she could see a low light shining from above. She reached up and pushed a metal plate up. It budged, but it was too heavy. Marina finally gave up. She then came to a door. She opened it and entered a closet. There was a familiar scent, a cologne she was sure she had smelled before. She reached for the door and opened the closet. She walked into a small clean room containing two beds. There where two backpacks on each bed. Marina instantly recognized them as being Imanol’s, and Leon’s. She couldn’t believe it this was just to funny. Marina heard footsteps and rushed into the closet and closed the door. There seemed to be no handle on the secret door, luckily she had left it opened. Marina was about to leave when she heard Imanol’s voice.
“I’m just not that hungry, plus I’m worried about Marina.”
“Hey, why don’t you take her dinner and your dinner up and you can eat together. I don’t think Inez would object to that.”
“You know… that’s a good Idea. Come on lets go.”
“Woohooo!!!”
“Why are you so happy…I’m the one who’s going to eat with her.”
“Yeah, but Jovana promised me a surprise if I convinced you to eat. So who’s the lucky one now?”
“Come on Leon lets go before the food gets cold.”
Marina heard the door clothes, she rushed out of the closet into the dark passage. She shut the door securely and looked up ready to run up the stairs. She took a few steps and froze. There on the steps was the little boy she had seen earlier, “Wait!” Marina called out to him. The little rug rat kept running. Marina ran after him, but he disappeared as if by magic. She stood still for a moment, then remembering, she ran up to her room. Once there she secured the mirror, and closed the curtain in place. She then rushed to the restroom, brushed her mass of curls, washed her face, and brushed her teeth. She got her makeup bag and applied some blush to her pale cheeks, a tiny bit of mascara to her eyes and a lightly tinted cherry chapstick on her lips. She then hurried out to the room. She turned off the bright chandelier and lit the candles on the two nightstands that stood on the sides of the bed. She opened the wardrobe and turned on the radio. A lovely love song played as Marina waited for Imanol to arrive.
