*trumpets start to play* By order of the Council of Rulers, I am authorized to give this decree:
(Okay, stop with the trumpets! *they stop* Disclaimer: I'm quoting the rules from Courtney!)
Every month (except September and October for now), a territory in the Lights section will be required to host a section gathering.
Each event should have a theme or activity, but NO BALLS. Sure, it allows for one or two posts of making your character simply stunning, but after that, things drag.
Most of these activities should take place in equine form. Sure, its fine to get transformed into a human every now and then, but you must admit, we joined the horse section to play horses. Not to mention how awkward it is to have a character named "Gold Rush" performing activities such as drinking punch...
Territories should host their parties on their actual herd boards. It makes it more conveneint to access, and it will definitely liven the boards up, as well as encourage others to join more characters if they take a liking to a particular board's setup. It would also encourage herd owners to be creative and 'redecorate'.
These parties should last no more than two weeks, or else things may get out of hand. Perhaps setting a definite end date would help things along.
Anyone that makes an appearence at these events should not be allowed to 'be in to places at once'. Sure, this might lower activity in some territories for a week or so, but overall, it should increase the amount of posting if characters and players have some 'catching up to do' afterwards.
Here is the territory lineup:
Nov - Sunset Peaks
Dec - Secret Grove
Jan - Paradise Isle
Feb - Windy Glen
Mar - Frozen Lake
Apr - Destiny Falls
May - Hopeful Valley
Jun - Dreamspeaker Falls
Jul - Papillon Lagoon
Aug - Sunkissed Beach
Some ideas for what to do are things such as skits, superlatives (you know, like those things in your yearbook! funniest, most athletic, most likely to succeed? except for horses!), scavenger hunts, and anything else you can think of. Just try to stay away from the whole "ball/dance" idea, unless you want to try something different like a dance where you are assigned random partners. Don't think too hard about what you are going to do until it gets to like, the month before it's your territory's turn. That way you can make sure the tt's going sooner don't steal your ideas!
