Subject: Christmas Party Tournament Results

The Christmas party held on Saturday was a success, many participated in the events and a good time was had by all.

The Kegger Competition was the first of the events, and the team of Lord Cohen and Moriath proved to be too good for the other competitors draining their keg well before the rest.

Next was the 1 on 1 tournament. It was staged in a 'round robin' format and there were many entrants from both NW and TDR. The competition was fierce, and many shields were sundered under the brutal force of the mace fighters. A few axemen entered the competition, displaying how lethal an axe with a keen edge can be. Although fencing wasn't on show much in the ring, when it did appear the lightning quick strikes of a fencer proved to quite troublesome!

The results of the 1 on 1 tourney are
  1. Moriath of the Night's Watch
  2. Tanus of the Night's Watch
  3. Karaash of the Night's Watch
  4. Pugs of the Danaan Rangers

Many interesting techniques were employed in the arena, and several ideas were gathered and stored away for events to come!

The 3 on 3 tourney was downgraded to a 2 on 2 event as the 1 on 1 event had managed to take up most of the afternoon. The teams were Karaash and Silvershade of the Night's Watch versus Pugs and Coralle of the Danaan Rangers.

Round 1 saw Karaash and Silvershade quickly dispatch Coralle and then Pugs, showing that two warriors were more fearsome than a mage and a warrior. So, to balance things we allowed a bystander to provide assistance to Coralle's health in the second round. This proved to unbalance things and soon Pugs and Coralle had mopped up Karaash and Silvershade. In round three the outside assistance was limited to one spell to be cast once in the round, and the fight was much closer but again Coralle and Pugs proved to be too much for Karaash and Silvershade.

Pugs and Coralle took home the 30,000 gold check for the team event, Moriath the 25,000 for the singles event, and Cohen the 5,000 for the Kegger Competition. We ran out of time for the Pie Eating contest and several other planned activities - we'll save those ideas for the next festival!!!
