Subject: *SPOILERS* Seeds, number crunching, ramblings

Hey All,

Was figuring out what it'd take to run a permanent greenhouse and the numbers are getting scary.

There is suppsoedly 3 different types of seeds each in 4 different colours, that spawn on the new creatures. This makes 12 different plants assuming a simple self-pollination system and excluding mutations.

Crossing each of these 12 should at least produce another 48 unique plants, making at least 60 in total.

Given it takes 9 days for a plant to mature, to have a constant source of breeding material will require at least 540 lockdowns! Not to mention storage of the seeds, which aren't stackable either.

But as usual, I get ahead of myself. OSI have stated that every seed has unique poroperties and it isn't until a plant is fully grown that you will know what you have, so for a start we may just have to plant lots and see what happens.

So for a start, we're just gonna have to collect as many as we can, and then take inventory to see if we can identify 12 different seeds, then start planting and wait & see.

As there is the chance of plants dying, i think we need to start with a few of each on planted, so we end up with a complete set of first generation plants.

When we get that far, I have identified the crosses required for check all colour combinations (regardless of type) and all type combinations (regardless of colour) so we can get an idea of what type of genetic algorithm applies. There are 18 of these second generation crosses to try.

But once again, I get ahead of myself. It will be at least 3 weeks before we see the results of any of this.

I'm just trying to point out to those interested, you're gonna need some space.

I may put the Real Estate business on hold for a while and try to get a second house just for the garden - I don't think my 150 available lockdowns in the Villa will cut it - Anyone know of a tower going for 500K? :)

Anyway, for those planning on joining in, you will probably need at least the following:-

1. Water Trough and pitcher
2. Kegs - Poison, Cure, Heal, Strength
3. Dirt (dunno where to get this yet)
4. Plant pots (provisioners)

I can help with the kegs, but that's about it for now. I think our carpenters better stock up on Water Trough deeds, they may be in demand soon.
