I have thought that bards and tamers both have needed chanign as they upset the balance of power in the game but the proposed changes suggested currently are to the extreme.

Provocation is a huge power and with it a low level character can kill most things in the world but i stress that the problem here is that a LOW LEVEL CHARACTER with LOW SKILL IN PROVOKE is a bit of worry. Provocation is an extremely hard skill to build and it should give the player who has made the effort abilities unique to bards.

As for the change that higher level monsters are harder to provoke....how much harder? I agree that a Blood elemental should be more difficult to provoke then a chicken but not impossible. Make it skill based so that a 90 skill provoker has the same chance to provoke the animal as say a 90 skill in one of the fighting skills to hit the target.

Bard songs..wow! UO was unique in the way its bards interacted with the world and now they are changing it into the classic bard from every other fantasy game. If done properly could be fantastic but they may have to think this one out a bit more.

Enticement. I can make a monster follow me indefinately now. Look at it wave arms and let it notice you there so UO please dont waste time its a dead skill until it has a new benefit.

Have i been griefed by a bard? Hundreds of times. Have i been griefed by non bards? Hundreds of times. Any character that is powerful or stupid can be a grief player. Bards and tamers are bracketed into this category because many players see ther abilities and build these chars before they learn to play the game or if they know the game they may just have a different opinion of how they derive their fun. As UO caters for all ages and groups of ppl we will have wallies on every street corner in every dungeon and wandering into your very own house. Just remember you will also meet many ppl that enrich your lives so you should go on with life knowing you are smarter then most of the worlds population it seems.

I also think that no matter how badly anyones character is affected by the game designers removing a pet hate etc, you pay for this game. So if you arent happy speak out ont eh boards like the hundred million other voices demanding their moneys worth every day. It is no reason to quit but i believe everyone should be happy and if adapting to a challenge isnt something anyone reading this post enjoys. Wrong game mate every skill get reworked every scam changed it may take years but if its an imbalance it wont work for to long. Im sorry but other ppl play the game as well and maybe we should take them into consideration.

Ahriman.

(Nerfed by plate penalties and that casting frees your hands of the order shield he was intended for.)

for anyone who wasnt around when these changes occured i was pretty bitter about it. have a nice night.
