May's contract will expire on 12 December. I am thinking of sending her home on 7 Dec as air ticket after 10 December will be HK$2700 (return) to Phillipines and it only costs HK$1700 if travel before 10 December. She won't be in HK when you return home so I am thinking of saving a thousand HK$ if she goes earlier. What do you think? She will return after New Year.

I get Sylvia (my boss) to sign contract with her. Sylvia wants a maid if her parents return HK from New Zealand next June. So I will keep May until end of May 2002 - time Jocelyn almost finishes her HKAL examination.

Auntie Marie (Adrian's mother) told me last night that Uncle Eddie (Adrian's father) may be on the laid-off list after the 911 event in US. It will be sad if he got laid-off because Adrian is stilling studying in England and Michael is doing F.5. Though they have good savings but to get another job with similar pay and benefits seems impossible. He may go back to Malaysia for business opportunity while Maria and Miachel still live in HK.

So you have to work hard because you never know what will happen the next day. Your dad is still employed but you never know will he be lucky to be employed next month or so.

That is why we always try to convince you and Jocelyn that life will not be so straightforward.

Mum
