That's OK. No need to check the bank rate because Dad has rung up the HSBC in England and found out that fixed interest rate for 6 months will be 3.15% annum. So he opens the account right away by phone - it is so easy and conveniently - doesn't like years before. After careful calcuation, we found that it will earn more interest to put in the fixed deposit account than to transfer the money back to Hong Kong to pay up the mortgage.

Therefore don't worry. Nice to hear that you are busy these 2 weeks. Hope study and life go well.
