Subject: convert to 5 x 5 front bolt pattern

I have a 1978 or 79 disk brake Trans Am subframe in my 49 Buick. What parts do I need to convert it to the big GM bolt pattern to match my 1970 Cad rear end? Is there a difference between the 78 and 79 subframes and if so how can I tell which one I have? Is there a different spindle I can use to lower the car? Thanks Brian
