Subject: 400 cam

what cam would anyone recommend for a 9:1 comp 400. the car will be a 79 firebird, 3.23 gear, th350. i was thinking of the indian adventures cam from the dyno simulator on pontiac warriors

Hey Matt,

For the indian adventure camshaft, you would need to do a port job with the 6x heads to get the numbers you seen.

Another camshaft that I saw on the dyno simulator is the Wolverine Racing 1169 Cam. It got the same duration, but the LSA is 112 degrees instead of IA's 110. It would give the engine a more smoother idle. You can really surprise someone with a powerful engine that idles smoothly.

There is not that much power difference between the two cams, it mostly how you like you engine to idle.
