Subject: 4 cylinder "Iron Duke" 1984 Firebird. GM's idea of a joke?

Has anyone else heard of this jewel? I started looking for a new car as a senior in high school in 1998. I found the car I have now. Its a red 1984 Firebird with the tough little IRON DUKE motor.

As a nieve 18 year old I bought the car from the owner for $500. I didn't care if it had a 4 banger! My dad, brother, and I restored it to original. I had a tight budget so only getting the car running and looking good was my consern.

Well years later, I haven't heard much about the 4 cylinder fbody until recently on my searches on Thirdgen.org.

Anyone else own this oddity? I plan on keeping it original. Going to make it an interesting show car. :0)
