Subject: 1989 firebird overdrive problem

hey everyone, i have a 1989 firebird with the 5.0 liter V8 with an auto transmission. it doesn't shift into overdrive anymore... all other gears are fine and it shifts smoot, but never goes into lock up gear. is there a solenoid or something that controls it? any idea how much it costs? car has 140,000 miles on it. thanks!
