oh the 60,s were fine,,,that car you guys are looking at is a BASE MODEL MONARO,,,,if you want the real deal look at the HSV GTS model,,,,,,GM wouldn,t let these things out of australia because they would cost jobs,, AND the flagship corvette that also died in 1970,, would be not so hot,,and another thing,,clint eastwood saw a 1985 group A commodore in australia,, AND TOOK ONE HOME,,,,,,,america seems hell bent on trafic lights,, and racing in circles,,,,the monaro had to be heavily weighted down in the last 18 months here in road racing so the lamborghini,s and GT2,3 porsche cars could compete,,,,the cars raced with the aurora 7 litre engine ,,,but were rev limited to 5700rpms to slow em down,,maybe the new gto would be more accepted in america if it had the rear of the car raised 6 inches, and a 1970,s tunnel ram fitted on the engine,,,c,mon its 2004,,,i own an american car,, and i know you guys lost the game after 1970,, this car is only a 2 door version of a car that has been in production since 1979,, the 4 door version is a better car,, again this is not a drag car,,,,its a touring car,,,just like a bmw m5,,,,but better and 60% cheeper,,GM know that the 18,000 of these cars is enough,,,,this could cost JOBS,,,,,,,,,P/S i do notice there is people bidding on E BAY right now,, just to get an option to buy one of these cars,,,,,,,,say no more,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,if i had 18,000,,,,,389GTO,s,, for the same money as the new one would there be a line up to buy em,, i dont think so,,aussie steve
