Subject: Zaria (Nigeria) albums c.1940's, 50's

Do you know who might be interested in photos and ephemera from the British Residency in Northeast Nigeria in the 1940s and 50s? On a whim I bought at auction in the state of Maine in the United States two large albums of life in the Zaria Province/Kingdom of Nigeria in that period. They appear to have been the property of and were apparently assembled by the wife of the British Resident, Conrad Veale Williams. They are replete with photographs of ceremonial and personal occasions, including visits by Montgomerie in 1947 and Queen Elizabeth in 1953. There are invitations to events honoring same, etc. there are even a handful of nice colored pencil portraits of natives by a British staffer. There are probably about 80 pages in all. They are identified on the inside cover of one of the albums as the property of a Mrs. Arthur Brewer of Brookline, Massachusetts; Brewer being the maiden name of Helen Williams, spouse of C.V.Williams, and I believe the person who put these albums up. Brewer is also one of the earliest names in the settlement of the Massachusetts colony in the 17th century.

Any direction you could give would be appreciated.

Thank you.
