If you are referring to dragon colors you might want to consult Anne McCaffrey's books or my favorite-"The Dragonlover's Guide to PERN" by Jody Lynn Nye.
Dragon colors are generally matched with the gender of the rider-
Greens and golds for females
Browns, bronzes and blues for males

Ruth (rider Jaxom) was the white dragon who was a throwback to the Oldtimers' line of dragons. Reds are new for females so there won't be an overabundance of greens. Ms. McCaffrey never wrote about reds, but it works here :).

Bronzes and golds are the largest. Browns are second in size. Blues and greens are the smallest and most nimble (by no means am I "slamming" the larger dragons!).

Golds carry acid tanks to kill Thread so as not to impede fertility from chewing firestone. But all other dragons chew firestone to produce the Thread-killing flame.

Don't know if this has helped. Hope it answers some of your question.

Maria
