Mari slowly turns to her father with a puzzled look on h er face as if to ask for a translation, he looked down, "Gracias, me llamo Hattie, y tu? Tu pelo le gusta, tambien."
She nods and fingers a strand of her hair and her father continues, "Tu gusta a aprender Engles?"
She grins and says to Hattie, "Soy Mari! Gracias, y wi."
Pedro translates, "I am Mari, Thank you and yes!" Then he asks Hattie, "Would it be alright if I left her here with you while I tended some business?"
