Subject: Why do people die when they do?

AS I mentioned in another post, the mother of my children died on Monday. My son has been pretty broken up about it, despite the fact that his mother was not someone who would be considered a good person. Far from it. He said that I was a good father and that he was lucky to have me. I pointed out that it was his mother who picked his father. I picked his mother for him. So looking at it that way, the good/bad judgment is exactly reversed.

He told me that she "had gotten better" in the last few years. I told him that maybe she had gotten her act together, and God did her a favor and took her before she could get messed up again.

This may seem heretical to those members who believe that the gospel is preached to people after they have died. But to those of us who don't accept that, it can be considered a great comfort in some ways.

George
