Of course I don't believe that, Lois. The First Presidency has been authorizing by "executive approval" the performing of same sex shacking up ceremonies since 1992. It has approved the ordination of avowed homosexuals for almost as long. If something has been going on for twenty years, wouldn't you think any legislative action would be necessary. The leadership will have to pare the active membership down to about 8,000 to get the "membership" to go along with this. I don't know how much money it takes to pay the salary of our hierarchic pyramid, or how much it costs to keep up the temple, but I don't think 8,000 active members can do it. That's about one third of the actives that are left right now.

The question of whether the Conference should be allowed to have any comment or input on this after twenty years is like asking if Prince Charles should have married Camilla after fooling around with her for twenty years. At this point, who cares? He certainly isn't going to be King.
