There you have it, Lois. That's similar to the Christian author's assessment in his book called "Games Christians Play." In that work, there was a game described called "I'd Love To, But...." Steve's variation of the game is "I'd Love To Confess Belief in the Scriptures, But...."

Do you suppose that Wally will contact Dr. Luffman and tell the apostle that he is "rationalizing?"

The explanation sounds rather like one a PhD gave on the radio in 1979. He said that theft wasn't a bad thing, because the thieves pawned the stolen items, and then poor people could afford to buy them. The rich people who had been robbed were compensated by the insurance company, so what was the problem? It would be politically incorrect for me to give you any clues to the personal characteristics of the one who gave that analysis.

Since a degree or doctorate was originally printed on sheepskin, we can easily say that these PhD's, ThD's, MD's and what have you spouting this stuff are wolves with "sheepskins."
