Lois, "affirming ministry" means preaching from the pulpit that homosexuality is a divine lifestyle, planned by God from the creation, and that anybody in or out of the church who doesn't believe this ranks somewhere between a chimpanzee and a cannibal. Yet the leadership would have us believe that they really, really haven't made up their mind one way or another about homosexuality and need lots of input from the rank and file in order to figure out what to do (which will, of course be what they have already done.

I read these phrases with particular interest (emphasis mine):
I will bring to the church my clearest perceptions of the mind and will of God.

And

A nonnegotiable for me is that I will not compromise vision, message, and the Spirit’s clear guidance in the face of threats from individuals

How is it that the revelations he brings are merely his "clearest perception of themind and will of God"?

This is in keeping with the liberal teaching that all revelation is merely the recipient's conceptualization of what God said, rather than what God actually did say. Thus, if a homophobe can mistakenly believe that God told him that homosexuality is an abomination, can we trust a homophile to correctly transmit the Divine message to us, either? The current leadership of the church, which (despite its insistence that there are many, many shades of gray) is distinctly and manifestly liberal, has never at any time made any statement or performed any action that would show good faith or trustworthiness.

Then, when he delivers a veiled threat that he will not tolerate any active dissent, suddenly the revelation becomes "the Spirit's clear guidance" rather than his "clearest perception." There is a huge difference, and the prophet has just leaped from one pole to the other.

It's just more insanity. One minute Divine revelation promoting homosexuality is an iffy, individual perception, and a few seconds later it is the "clear guidance of the Spirit."

I won't say, "Stop the Madness." That's too Pollyanna. The madness isn't going to be stopped regardless of any prudent and reasonable requests or demands to do so; thus, my recommendation is to get as far away from it as you can and stay as far away as you can. There comes a time when you finally have to get in the lifeboat and leave the true believers in the unsinkable to their own devices.
