Lois, what this official pronouncement does not clarify is that if you have conservative political or spiritual beliefs, you are welcome to show up and tithe, but you are not welcome in the priesthood or any of the leadership quorums. The official position of the CofC (although never spoken of honestly) is "We love straight people and fundamentalists. We have a whole pew at the back of the church especially reserved for straight people and fundamentalists."
