Yes. The ancient Christians could have avoided being thrown to the lions if they had pretended that they did not worshp Jesus Christ, and if they had pretended to worship the emperor. The Jewish priest Eleazar could ahve avoided being tortured to death if he had, as Antiochus Epiphanes' official suggested, pretended to eat pork as an example for the Jewish public. They did not, because it was treason to their faith to do so.

But the difference between the early Christians and the Community of Christ is that between 100 AD and 1852 AD, Mormonism got into the field with the concept of "lying for the Lord." Lying for the Lord commenced with John Taylor deliberately lying to British subjects about the church's gung ho promotion of polygamy to keep emigrating virgins in the pipeline. Although the CofC still rejects polygamy officially, it also officially rejects homosexuality and any other number of things that insiders know are heartily endorsed, practiced, and promoted by the Community of Christ. But the Community of Christ uses paradigmas, deceptions, and outright lies to keep contributions in the pipeline, and to lure foreign missionary targets into the church.

That's why it is very difficult to discuss Mormonism and/or the Community of Christ with children. The real truth is so ugly that it is not for the ears of young children.

If tHe church had possessed a website in 1844, do you think that there would be any mention of polygamy on it?

No informed, intelligent, and sane person familiar with "the church" could answer "yes" to that question.

Why is it impossible to answer the question positively? Because the Community of Christ is as eaten up with homosexuality as the Nauvoo church was with polygamy. The CofC does have a website, but it makes no mention of the core beliefs of the church, nor does it mention the absolute number one agenda for the church as identified by Steve Veazey -- that sodomy is top priority over any other issue.

The operational similarity of the Community of Christ to the Mormon Church is more embarrassing than the similarity of the Aggie fight song to the theme from "Yogi Bear." Warren Jeffs needs to take lying lessons from the CofC hierarchy.

George

At Zenith, the quality goes in before the name goes on.

At the Community of Christ, the sodomy goes in before the game goes on.
