I have to agree with you, Lois.

All attempts by homophiliacs to quote scripture to justify and rationalize the practice of homosexuality turn Christianity into a joke.

It is perfectly normal for a man and a woman to sleep together out of wedlock, but it is a sin. If they subsequently get married, even according to the evil and oppressive Law of Moses, that erases the sin and normalizes the relationship. However, it is not normal for two men to want to sleep together, or two women to sleep together; thus there is no provision for setting the sexual relationship right in God's eyes.

Nowhere in the scriptures does it say that two men having carnal relations with each other are committing sin, but that the sin goes away if they make a commitment to each other. All they can do is make a committment to become partners in sin.

This is not a "cultural" thing. This is something that is wired into us. There are things that women will not do unless heavily drugged, or hypnotised, or both. But those exploiting them drug them and/or hypnotise them, or induce them to do so by offering considerations that are desperately needed. Then the liberal elite, for some reason, thinks that if these things are physically done, then they are normal.

I think that it was the Marquis de Sade who said that the only unnatural act (or sin) is one that is impossible to commit, because nature makes it impossible to accomplish. More and more, the Community of Christ gives reason to believe that it has adopted this belief and made it its own. The implication of most of what I read from the CofC seems to be that if God didn't want men to have sex with each other, he would have made them incapable of doing so. And then, of course, since God has not made adultery, or thievery, or murder, or coveting, or anything else like that impossible to do, all these things, by extension, are normalized as well. From reading the Asia News, I learned today that in India, abortion is often referred to as "foeticide." And, of course, it isn't impossible to kill a baby, either. People do it all the time, with varying degrees of success at escaping penalties.

George
