Lois, that is the political maneuvering typical of leftist politics. When a proposal came up for an Amendment to the federal constitution banning same sex marriage, the leftists and homosexual activists said, "That's not necessary. Each state can decide for itself what it wants to do." So the amendment was put aside.

Of course, anytime a liberal speaks of state's rights, he is not to be trusted. As soon as some of the state supreme courts interpreted some state constititutions as permitting same sex marriage, then any state whose population voted against same sex marriage was sued in federal court to overturn the state's "decision for itself."

And that is how the Community of Christ proposes to do this as well. It is a leftwing political party hiding under the tax exemption of a defunct church. The CofC will say that this is effective only in the jurisdictions that want it, and then it will be forced on everyone else.

The Community of Christ dealership is as insanely dedicated to the proposition of same sex marriage as the Utah fundamentalist sects (with whom the LDS does not want to be associated) are to the proposition of plural marriage. Same sex marriage is also known as "sacramental sodomy", just as plural marriage is also known as "sacramental adultery."

This, of course, has not come about because of a sea change in the opinion of the American people, or the members of the RLDS church. It has come about because of the identity of the person in the White House. This person's proclivities have been known since day one, as well as his support for homosexual marriage, and the dealership is trying to strike while the iron is hot.

After all, the same-sex shacking up ceremonies came about close to the period that the previous prohomosexual President was in office, but slacked off after he left office, due to the uphill battle they faced, but in November 2008, it was "Glory Hallelujah" to the Obamessiah.

Of course, when western civilization caves in, the entire world won't necessarily go back into the Dark Ages. But the western countries will. And since churches and other religious organizations have great political dominion during Dark Ages, the CofC dealership will be in hog heaven.
