John, stop being a deceiver -- but of course you would have to remain one to "stay" with the CofC program.

The ceremonies performed include ceremonies for people who could marry, but choose not to do so for different reasons, as well as couples who can't they are married to someone else.

Matt has already admitted that he knows of an instance in which a couple (at least one of whom was married to someone else) had a sexual cohabitation arrangement blessed by the CofC because the CofC determined that under the circumstances that it could do as it chose.

What these amount to are "shacking up ceremonies." And the same sex ceremonies are such, as well, since the church officials are very careful to avoid secular legal problems by calling them "marriages." The CofC lives in awe and fear of the secular courts.

And if you don't know about these shacking up ceremonies, then you are far too ignorant of your own church to be going around laughing at other people.

That's what I have objected to all along, John: the lying and obfuscation. Other churches do these things all the time, and they are proud to say that they do them. It is those who sneak around and hide who signal that they have some kind of guilty feeling about what they are doing.
