John, one of the secrets of motivating people is letting them "overhear" what they think that they are not supposed to hear.

For instance, if Mom tells her son that there is a nice girl who has moved into the neighborhood whom she would like him to meet, he will disappear posthaste. If he hears Mom and Dad talking about her "backstage," he's interested.

I dare say that the only thing anyone writes that you actually sit down to read is something that someone wrote about you rather than to you. You will hardly believe this, of course, because I said it to you, and not someone else.
