It is a little confusing where Apostle Bunda C. Chibwe stands on GLBT issues. He does however admit ". . . the Community of Christ disciples are ready to accommodate those perspectives." Seems to me that the c-not-of-c is poised to push the issue wherever they are, even in countries where it is dangerous. Apostle Chibwe is guilty by association.

In Africa, Chibwe said, citizens look at the worth of every person and the responsible choices that Community of Christ believers should make collectively, while still celebrating their unity in diversity.

The unity in diversity, however, is often challenging, Chibwe said. For example, church members in Africa struggle with issues felt worldwide like same-sex marriage and same-sex relationships. While many African governments have yet to address such issues, Chibwe said, the Community of Christ disciples are ready to accommodate those perspectives.

“It’s a blessing for us, but at the same time, it’s the most that is very difficult for them,” he said. “By the end of the day, as we say, what matters most for us is to be a church that does understand that what we are called to create is sacred, diverse communities.”
