Well, Lois, if a member of the hierarchy up and "came out," then it is apparent that the work of the Holy Spirit has come undone in his/her/hir/hes life, assuming that he was ever saved to begin with. 1 Corinthians 6:5-11, after condemning members of the church from suing others (how on target is this out of date guy, Paul?) he mentions that all of the saved used to be sinners, and that some of the those mentioned are now former homosexuals, because of the gospel and salvation of Jesus Christ.

The situation in the Communitarian Church is like a bad TV horror minseries from 1973. David McCollum sees the experimental subject perishing, and, just before dying of a heart attack, writes Dr. Frankenstein a note (unfinished.) He intends to write a warning: "The process is reversing itself" but only writes "The process is r..."
The good doctor takes this to mean "The process is ready. So the doctor performs the experiment and
"creats" new life -- with the usual horrible results due to a flawed human plan and a flawed hero who can't see his own flaws.

The Community of Christ has read all of Paul's warning -- complete and unabridged, but for some reason cannot understand the flaws in their human-developed plan of redemption. So, unaware that the "success" they are congratualting themselves for is only the prelude to disaster, the unnamed fellow evangelist/patriarch/matriarch of Matt announces that he has been renewed with new life -- a new life that is nothing more than his own reversal of his redemption.

I think the ideal 2012 ticket for Communitarians, and many others would be Al Franken and Gertrude Stein. Then they could display their effective intent with bumperstickers that say:
Franken/Stein 2012.
I know that Stein is dead, but if dead people can vote Democratic, I don't know what one of them can't be vice president.

Who else but liberal postChristians would celebrate the spiritual equivalent of Dr. Frankenstein as the forerunner of a New Age of salvation free from medieval corruption?

George
