Subject: Does a "Thriving" Branch have to merge to survive?

I wonder just how many people here would apply the adjective "thriving" to a branch of 300 plus members that (over a long period of liberal shenanigans) dwindled to less than ten on Sunday morning and has been forced to sell its digs and merge with another branch that is having similar difficulties?

Fairbanks Branch will soon be no more.

North Houston will soon be no more.

They will merge, because between the two, there might actually be enough members to keep the lights on. And get this: had it not been for the fact that I found out that the First Presidency was sneaking around performing homosexual ordinations and same-sex shacking up ceremonies, I'd still be there at Fairbanks. In fact, if in August 2002, the First Presidency had invalidated all the illegal homosexual ordinations, I'd still be there. It is a very complex issue, and at every turn of the maze, the FP invariably checks to see which way is to Tartarus, takes that path, and alienates still more people.
