Isnt' that what the Cainites did within their little group? Have an "oath" that no one would share anything with anybody on the outside, so that they could operate "in the dark," so to speak?

As I said, when people get bored with Christianity, they start looking for something else.

Whatever happened to the mission statement: "...to proclaim Jesus Christ"? It seems that somehow a typo has turned it into "pre-blame Jesus Christ." Whatever problem exists anywhere on the planet is traced back to the inadequacies and meanness of Christians, who need to be taught how to be something else in a subtle enough way that they don't notice the change. Apparently the mental power of Christians is so great, that to change reality, those who would change it must focus on changing what's on the minds of Christians -- not Hindus, atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, Jews, Mormons, or Communitarians. Does that sound anything like "Christianity's monopoly is over"?

There is no such thing as adjustable reality. Economic laws prove that. It doesn't matter what you convince the population that the currency is worth, if too much of it is printed, it becomes worthless regardless of what anybody would like to think. That's why efforts to get Christians to apostasize wholesale is useless to achieve the desired results. One may succeed in destroying Christianity, but all the evils that Christianity perceived as evils will remain. And they will still be evil.

Lois, what has been long since "over" is the CofC's ability to call itself a Christian church.
