Stop and think, Mamusz. The hierarchy is composed of politicians. The people who do all the work -- the local priesthood -- don't get paid. In fact, if they don't tithe, Steve Veazey has told them that they will get canned. So the CofC is like a fraternity with about 50 "brothers" and 30,000 permanent "pledges."

Like politicians, the hierarchy tries to swing the mechanism of the church toward helping their own families, friends, and personal causes. Any revelations received from God will show God as being 100% in favor of whatever this tiny minority needs, and having Jovian wrath for anyone mean enough to think that someone other than this minority deserves any consideration.

Remember the federal grants that then-Senator Obama obtained for his wife back in Illinois? Homosexuality is just another pork-barrel project that the normal membership is going to have to pay through the nose for, but get only disaster -- personal, spiritual, and financial -- in return.
