Well, Lois, the Crown sent Captain Kidd to round up the pirates in the Caribbean, and then Kidd decided he'd become one. God sent the priesthood to call sinners to repentance, and then the priesthood decided that they'd join up with the unrepentant sinners. Why shouldn't the CofC buccaneers give Mortenson a "Pirate of the Year Award?" While they are at it, they can give Kidd one posthumously for "redistributing the wealth," and "making an outstanding contribution to population control."

That sort of thing has happened throughout history.

Come to think of it, wasn't Joseph Smith, Jr. originally accused of being after Captain Kidd's treasure? Maybe the results that have been obtained give a clue to whether this was true or not.
