I know, Lois, but the people who have drunk the kool-ade do not have enough functioning brain cells left to believe you if you tell them. Castro, after all, was "not a communist," when he had the support of American businessmen who wanted to see the end of Batista. After he got control of Cuba, he finally came out and said, "What do you know? I AM a communist after all."

Just like O.C. Henson's statement that the RLDS/CofC would never join the NCC, regardless of any behind the scenes association with it -- this year the leadership says, "What do you know? We did intend to join the NCC after all."

Richard Trumka, president of the AFL-CIO printed a rabble-rousing pro-illegal immigration article (Inmigrantes Bajo Asaltos)in my local Spanish language newspaper, SemanaNews. When I mentioned this to a die hard liberal, they cursed, me called me all sorts of names, and demanded that I prove that it was true. After all, if I disagreed with them, I had to be lying. I can't quote for you what they actually said, because I'd get kicked off this forum for saying something like that even as a quote.

As in the case of the now-famous Community of Christ same-sex shacking up ceremony in Eugene, Oregon, they prefer to consider information that they do not like to be "a rumor." That is, until the CofC finally comes out and says, "What do you know? We are a gay church after all! "

Jennifer Anniston trusts Brad Pitt way more than I trust any ordained minister of the CofC, or any of its liberal members. And there aren't too many members left who aren't liberal. In fact, there are too many members left, period.

As for "openness in the church," as long as the leadership and hierarchy are all liberal socialist freaks who can't get a job in the real world, there isn't going to be any. Look at the job W. Grant McMurray ended up in after he suddenly flew the coop.
