You and I are tuned into the reality of the situation far better than John is.

In order to "discover" he was born homosexual, (I put the word "discover" in quotes, because I didn't "discover" that I was born Caucasian, or male, in middle age,) a man has to go out and have sex with another man. Now if this man is 41 years old and married with kids, he is cheating on his spouse. However, John, is very stern with the married heterosexual who is cheating. But in the case of the homosexual cheating on his wife, his inclination is judged to be irresistible. Thus, homosexuality is declared to be MORE irresistible than heterosexual behavior, because the married heterosexual is expected NOT to cheat on his wife. The homosexual, poor dear, is told that even with the grace of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Ghost that he cannot possibly resist having sex with another man.

The CofC's policy toward homosexuality sounds a lot like the elitist pigs in "Animal Farm," who declared "Some animals are more equal than others." Yet they are always dumping on us that we are insensitive, unfair, biased, prejudiced and bigoted. Their own insitutionalized bigotry just flies right over their heads.

And yes, John said that Joseph Smith, Jr.'s alleged "hook-up" with Fannie was "filthy." Why? Because JS, Jr. hadn't gotten "administrative approval" for a heterosexual shacking up ceremony to pledge his faithfulness in covenant to the woman he was cheating on his wife with. These shacking up ceremonies sound in some ways much like the Nauvoo "spiritual marriage" ceremonies that "administrators" had in their private offices in the temple and elsewhere.
