On presenting the following inspired document to the World Conference, the prophet/president made the following prefatory remarks:

While I was praying for guidance for the church, I received the following counsel with enlightenment and guidance to the church for its future crusades. It is a revelation of an event that took place in the life of Christ that was overlooked by Joseph Smith, Jr. when he was writing the Inspired Version, so it is presented here to the quorums of the Church for their approval. This new revelation illustrates clearly why we cannot be bound by the Inspired Version. It can't possibly be finished if we haven't stop changing what we believe all the time."

1 Jesus was on the way to Bethany, when a blind man came up to him, calling out, "Help me, O Son of David."

2a Jesus said, "First of all, I am not the Son of David. The Jesus Seminar has discovered that I am the illegitimate son of an obscure Hasmonean Prince. b Secondly, I can't help you, because it is perfectly normal for you to be blind. You were born that way, weren't you?" And the blind man, astonished, said, "Yes, I was."

3a Then Jesus said, "There you have it. You were born blind, so there is no need for you to object to the way that you were born. b It's God's will that you have a blind lifestyle. But because I am here to dispel all prejudice and bring new life, I will use what power I do have to force the locals to hire you as a a chariot driver for the next Blind Pride parade."

4a The man was overjoyed, but stopped and said to Jesus, "You can do all that, but you can't heal me?" b Jesus said, "Look, if you aren't going to be realistic about this, I'm just going to forget the whole thing."

5 Then the apostle John came up to Jesus with a scroll, which Jesus read. Then Jesus turned to the blind man and said, "Look, Archbishop Spong just discovered that I was never in this village during my lifetime, which happens to be right now, so come to think of it, I can't do squat for you. I'm not even here."

6 Then Jesus walked off and left the man in the road.
