John, the CofC is always talking about the law of the land. That is one of the places that there is a great gulf between the CofC and normal Christian churches.

The CofC is only interested in what is legal under secular law. Even before taking the new name, it ceased to have any interest in what was morally right, as opposed to whatever it can get away with.

The Devil is a lawyer, John. That is why the Law doesn't save anyone. The Law just brings you face to face with the Devil, so that you can understand just what disobedience to God entails. I am not sure what disobedience the RLDS did before God to end up getting screwed over in court by the CofC hierarchy, but it must be something that would even embarrass Cain, judging from the view of the Devil that the CofC leadership has provided them. Until I joined the now-defunct RLDS Church, I hade never had such a close knowledge of something this Satanic.

But even though, as a stand-in for the Devil, the hierarchy is scourging the faithful RLDS, bear in mind that the Devil is to have his comeuppance after his work is accomplished.
