I see where you are going with this, John.

If Joseph Smith, Jr. had a heterosexual affair that dishonored the covenant of marriage, the way to fix that is not to join a church that never had anything to do with Joseph Smith, Jr. The way to fix it is to declare a free-for all on sex of any and every kind.

The prophet Nathan would have been overjoyed at the simple solution. He could have announced that everyone in the country should be allowed to have sex with a married woman, and then kill her husband. After all, if the head honcho can do it and get away with it, then everybody should be allowed to do it.

My way of thinking is that anyone who believes that the Restoration was born as a fraud perpetrated by a sex maniac, the best thing to do is go and join a real church. That is, unless the power over the pocketbooks of others provided by continuing the fraud is just too appealing to resist.

Replacing low class unfaithful, promiscuous heterosexuaity (which by Biblical definition is disgusting) with any kind of homosexuality (which by any orthodox definition in any "fully franchised global system of salvation" is disgusting) is not the sort of thing that the Biblical Jesus would approve of. After all, he never approved of the "Two wrongs make a right" philosophy.

Now the "Jesus Seminar" Jesus might approve. The "We're-not-the-RLDS-we-just-own-the-name" Jesus obviously does approve.
