Since the CofC canonizes modern revelation, it is unfair to nonCofCers to be left out, so I offer a previously unpub lished continuing revelation here. Just because John is shy about posting real CofC scripture does not mean that others of us cannot show what the Restoration is all about -- God talking to anybody and everybody in the here and now. It is these "here and now" revelations that govern the direction of the Community of Christ. Standard readings posted from evangelical denominations don't really tell the story on a Restoration forum like this one.

Lo, hearken unto the voice of thy God, and listen.
Thou hast bowed before the Lord and desired counsel, and now I speak unto thee.

Be not anxious, nor afraid, for I have ordered all things.

I have said unto all men that I am as their father, and so shalt thou be father, that thy seed shall know that I am, and that I have worked hitherto, for thou shalt work also. Show yourself a man; acquit thyself as I.

Remember thou these two things, to make thee strong. I have said unto my people: I will honor him who honoreth me, and lo, also I will contend with him that contendeth with me.

Honor him who is dead, for he hath honored thee. If I am thy God, I will have mine honor -- if thou knoweth me, honor him who hath been father to thee, and thou shalt be both blessed and strong. If thou honor him not, thou take from me mine honor, so beware.

Remember this also -- my controversy hath been long delayed, and I will hasten it -- Contend with her who contendeth with thee. If I am God, shall I not contend? If thou knowset me, conted with her who contendeth with me, and thou shalt receive strength for the struggle. If thou contend not, thou deny me, so beware.

Be quiet, go forth and do mywill, and I will be with thee. As I never fail, if thou walkest with me in the way, none can stand against thee.

Set thine house in order, make it secure. Seek cousel from the wise, what they say unto thee, hear it as from mine own lips -- and do. Falter not nor faint, benot discouraged. I am lord of all creation, of all things past and future, and I order them as I will. I wil keep thee safe in mine own hand: let this faith keep thee secure against the voice of the enemy, speak what language she will unto thee. Fear not, for I shall do to her according to my will and pleasure, and she shall be destroyed.

This I say unto you in the name of my Son. He is thy lord and king. He is thy van, and with thee goeth my Spirit to comfort thee. Amen.

[The revelation was received February 2, 2002. Almost two months later, W. Grant McMurray got up at conference and announced that he had personally been present when avowed homosexuals were ordained to the priesthood, and that he did not have the spiritual or mental will to interfere.]
