John, here is where you run into trouble by quoting scriptures from Protestant sources, when you belong to the CofC.

The NRSV here clearly says that the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost) had not yet come. But the official doctrinal bible of the Cofc says that the Holy Ghost fell upon Adam, and he prophesied. The Book of Mormon -- also one of the three standard doctrinal works of the CofC -- details the mission work of Christian evangelism that went on in the Americas over a hundred years before Jesus was born.

That is lying by implication, John. You lead lurkers here to think that you and the CofC accept, believe in, and teach orthodox Christian doctrine. But that cannot possibly be so when the Three Standard Works of the RLDS church (which the CofC claims to be) clearly and plainly contradict what the NRSV says in your quote.

Adam receives the Holy Spirit

67 And it came to pass, when the Lord had spoken with Adam our father, that Adam cried unto the Lord, and he was caught away by the Spirit of the Lord, and was carried down into the water, and was laid under the water, and was brought forth out of the water, and was brought forth out of the water; and thus he was baptized. 68 And the Spirit of God descended upon him, and thus he was born of the Spirit, and became quickened in the inner man. 69 And he heard a voice out of heaven saying, "thou art baptized with fire and with the Holy Ghos; this is the record of the Father and the Son, from henceforth and forever."

Genesis 6:67-69 (Inspired Version -- known to Mormons as the "Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible.")

It is also contained in the Mormon scripture volume called "The Pearl of Great Price."

Where you will NOT find it is in the National Council of Churches copyrighted NRSV.

John, this is why your calling Lois a liar is so ironic. The people who have trained you for the ministry and ordained you have taught you to so integrate lying with your ministry that you can't tell the difference.

Either the NRSV is true when it says no one had the Holy Spirit until Jesus was resurrected and ascended, or the Inspired Version is correct when it says that Adam received the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit) thousands of year prior to this. They cannot both be correct. And this is a doctrinal point of major importance.

The CofC, by claiming to be the RLDS church, has chosen the scriptures of the RLDS church as the last resort for doctrine. Yhe rules and bylaws of the RLDS church declare the Three Standard works to be the last resort for doctrine. But you have the unmitigated gall to print quotes from the NRSV here to make lurkers suppose that the CofC is a Protestant church that believes the same thing they do, when that is absolutely false.

Talk about disgusting and abominable, John. You're right up there with the image you portray of Joseph Smith, Jr., and you cannot distract attention away from the lies and heresy that you promote by pointing the finger at him all the time.

Joseph Smith, Jr. is dead. Do something with your life now and stop using him as a crutch to rationalize all the wrongdoing that you carry on in Jesus' name at the behest of the so-called Community of Christ.

You cannot separate yourself from Joseph Smith, Jr., John, and claim that the RLDS church was begun in 1860. The RLDS is the original church founded in 1830 by Joseph Smith, Jr. If you try to do away with him because you think he is so evil and disgusting, you will realize the same thing that Henry Jekyll did when he did away with Mr. Hyde.

All your teachings come from Joseph Smith. The hatred that the CofC has for Joseph Smith, Jr. is the same hatred that real homphobes (not people branded so by homosexual activists) have have for homosexuals. They hate them because they suspect they might be homosexual themselvez. And your knowledge of your connexion to Joseph Smith, Jr. can be nothing but certain; thus, referring to his alleged activities as disgusting, not only shows that you are more than willing to believe those activities occurred, but you tar and feather yourself.

John, is the CofC really the RLDS Church? Your use of the NRSV (to the exclusion of the I.V., the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants) suggests to any thinking person aware of the facts in this case that it is not the RLDS Church.

George
