Whats up everybody? Well I am here in DC (actually Bethesda), have been for four weeks now. Although last week I was in Boston for the American Society of Gene Therapy. Let me tell all my sicience buddies, these conferences are like heaven for nerds. Everything is going rather well here. My thesis research is almost where I want it to be, so I am on schedule. I got my MCAt scores, all my transcripts are in and I have completed the online application so I have now officially submitted my life to AMCAS, and the AAMC. Good news though for my fellow pre-meds.... I am not sure how many of you read the newspapers, but starting in July of 2003 (not next intern cycle, but the one following) interns and residents alike will be restricted to 80 hours a week. Furthermore, no one will be allowed to work for more than 24 hours (no more 36 hours) and must have had at least 10 hours to rest in between shifts! Damn right, although now we have to deal with the others docs saying "In my day we worked all day everyday for 6 years until we passed out for another year just to recover from our internship...blah blah blah." Alright well I am rambling, anyway, everyone have a great one and drop me a line.

Alex
