Aye, we did indeed meet with success, Sir Kinnan. If I may first show you our payment...
**She first reaches into a plain brown pouch at her side and produces two black velvet ones, one containing gold, the other, silver. Next she unslings the bag from her shoulder and produces three bottles of elderberry wine and finally she draws out a magnificent sword with a silver blade and a hilt of gold. It has a hand guard on its hilt and a moon engraved into the blade. She lays the said items down on the ground between them before straightening up to give her report.**
Payment was readily and generously given as you can see. The pouches contain 200 coins each, one gold, one silver. The wine is of their finest and the sword is one of Lunar Isle's strongest designs.
Now as to further details of our mission, let me elaborate. Firstly, upon arriving at Lunar Isle the threat of the dragon Shadow Death-Blade became apparent. Admittedly it was a rather unsatisfying success as after we had inflicted several fatal wounds along with the assistance of the Lunar beasts he flew off to a neighbouring Isle where it was later confirmed that he had indeed died.
We had also constructed a shrapnel launcher to assist us, which was offered as part of payment; however I deemed it fit to leave it at the Isle as a sign Quanshaire's goodwill to the inhabitants and entreated them to remember the name of Quanshaire should they ever require further assistance.
Following the death of Shadow Death-Blade, several dragons and their entourage - well armed I might add - landed on the Isle and thanked the Lunar beasts for ridding them of Shadow. They seemed intent on incorporating the Isle into what they called the Dragon Alliance of World Beasts, though Lunar was not forth coming. They decided upon making a treaty between the two parties.
Despite the fact that our mission was now over and the dragons intent appeared peaceable enough, I elected to stay a little longer. A treaty was written up which both Lady Kaliah and Solar Death-Blade (The leader of the Dragons) signed and I managed to see its exact contents.
I took the liberty of making a copy of it on my return journey before the more specific details slipped from my mind.
**She produces a tattered piece of parchment which she hands to Kinnan upon which is a copy of the treaty that was made.**
*** Official Treaty ***
This treaty, written the Twenty-first of July in the year Two Thousand and Two (I'll just assume Redwall time is based off of real time for convenience purposes) declares peace between the inhabitants of Lunar Isle and the dragons of the mainland. Under terms of this treaty, the dragons shall be permitted onto Lunar with the following conditions:
1. That they remain peaceful while on the isle and do not threaten, kill, or otherwise harm the inhabitants of the isle.
2. That they do not start wars between the isle and other territories unless given permission by the isle's leader.
3. Can enlist the aid of Lunar mercenaries, construction workers, healers, and other such creatures but must inform Lady Kaliah.
4. The cave of Sea Slider shall not be disturbed or entered by any creature.
5. Should any inhabitant of Lunar Isle show aggression toward members of the Dragon Alliance of World Beasts, the dragons can and will take the island into their custody to bring order and peace to the island under a unified control.
**She continues speaking as he reads it.**
In my personal opinion there may likely be future trouble brewing between these two parties. The dragons appeared insincere in their peace attempts. I recall their leader stating that "If lunar cannot control the neighbors we will have to crush such a shrewd act against peace and keep lunar safe from other such attempts" Also, I wish to point out that several of the Lunar beasts appeared dissatisfied with the content of the treaty as it stands.
It was after this that I left the Isle. Is there anything further you wish to know?
