The blade nicks his hip, but doesn't do much more. Steps quickly to Braunleg's side, hoping to be out of axe range. Subject Author Date **Draws a dagger from his side to deflect the stab to his ribs. He brings the haft of the axe up to try and catch the chain, while using the dagger to swipe at Fray's side** (NT) Braunleg 14:44:47 08/14/01 Tue *alters the angle of his scimitar to divert the dagger swipe. Uses the longer blade to reach past the dagger and press against his ribcage. Shoves suddenly on the scimitar, hoping to pierce deeply into Braunleg's chest cavity. The end of the chain wraps around the axe haft, but Fray jerks on it quickly, hoping to either free the chain, or at least loosen Braunleg's grip, as he is only holding onto it with one paw* (NT) -- Fray Blackwood, 22:29:17 08/14/01 Tue **Moves his chest to one side so that the scimitar deflects off of his leather coat, tearing the top slightly. His grip on the axe is loosened slightly, but he does not lose it, instead following the movement of the chain as it tightens around the haft. The chain now captured, he can move in close, out of sword-range. He steps towards Fray, holding the axe and chain, and brings his dagger up in a swipe across Fray's neck. He hisses through clenched teeth** Y'wanna bring this'n in close, do ya? Alright, we'll do it yore way! (NT) -- Braunleg, 08:15:38 08/15/01 Wed *bares fangs, shifting head so that the dagger clashes across his teeth rather than his throat. Jerks his knee up suddenly at Braunleg's gut as the two are practically chest-to-chest. Throws the chain out of his paw at Braunleg's face as the weapon is useless half-wrapped around the axe haft. Aims a hefty punch at the side of Braunleg's head with his left paw, keeping right held tight onto the scimitar handle* (NT) -- Fray Blackwood, 18:02:09 08/15/01 Wed **The chain flies past his jowl, but does no damage. He takes the punch but shakes it off, re-sheathing his dagger to send in a flying punch of hes own. Clutching his axe tightly, he raises his spare paw for another punch**** (NT) -- Braunleg, 19:52:17 08/15/01 Wed OOC: K, I'm gonna give you another chance at that move. Where did you punch at? What about the knee going for your gut? Also, a "hefty punch"? At the "side of your head"? Matey, that's the kinda blow that's meant to knock you out. But once you try to start "knocking me out" you've hit some very touchy autoing areas. You can't tell me I'm punched out. If I so choose, I can shake it off. My responding punch was meant to send the same tpye right back at you, but because it is such a touchy subject, I retract my punch. If you want, I'll reply again. It's simply realistic. If you would have been "dazed" or ducked, or done something realistic, I wouldn't have commented. Ah well, thanks for redoing that move. He sees Braunleg raising the axe, and instinctively dodges to the right and forward, though is still caught a deep slice along the ribs.
