I know. It's intended to be grossly unfair. The way I see it, the Federation is the existing regime, and the Alliance is the 'rebel's. The federation is kind of an 'unfair dictatorship-communist-tyrant' situation, and do their best to make life miserable... The federation and the alliance are constantly at war, and do interesting and unfair things. You see, the Alliance has something in store as well, worry not, wrongs will be righted...
